Using familiar communication tools within digital activities
Join-In Pro can be used alongside Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, allowing users to continue using their familiar communication tools while participating in everyday digital activities.
AAC can be used in two different ways within Join-In Pro. Users can send AAC-generated text directly to supported apps for messaging, searching, writing, and other digital interactions. Symbol-based AAC users can also choose to send their messages with symbols when supported. Users can also instantly switch to their AAC system for face-to-face communication while using the computer, then return to exactly where they left off without losing their place in the activity.
Both symbol-based and text-based AAC systems are supported, enabling people with different communication styles, access methods, and literacy levels to participate using the communication tools they already know.
By bringing AAC into mainstream digital environments, Join-In Pro supports communication wherever it is needed—not only within dedicated AAC software, but throughout everyday digital activities.
