Join-In Pro is developed by D-Bur, the leading AAC company in Israel. D-Bur is committed to providing and developing professional and innovative solutions that support communication, access, and participation for people with complex needs.
D-Bur was founded in 2008 by Dr. Yossi Blum, whose vision grew from his family’s lived experience. Dr. Blum and his wife Sigal are parents to four children, including their oldest son, Matan, who is non-speaking.
When advanced AAC solutions were not yet available in Israel, Dr. Blum developed a computer-based solution to support his son’s communication – an experience that became the foundation of D-Bur’s mission: to expand access to communication and participation through technology.
In Israel, D-Bur develops and implements AAC and access solutions across iPad and Windows platforms and creates original tools and content that support communication, education, literacy, play, and digital participation. Solutions are designed primarily for Hebrew and Arabic-speaking communities, with additional support for languages such as Russian and Yiddish. D-Bur also provides computer access solutions and eye-gaze services throughout the country.
Internationally, D-Bur’s work is represented through Join-In Pro, a platform developed from its local clinical and technological experience and now used in multiple countries and languages. Through partnerships with technology providers and service organizations worldwide, Join-In Pro supports access to digital environments for individuals with diverse access and communication needs.
Dr. Blum holds a PhD in Operations Research from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Prior to founding D-Bur, he served as VP of R&D at Retalix (now part of NCR), where he led the development of large-scale software systems for the retail industry.
Dr. Roth also holds a PhD in Operations Research from the Technion. Before joining D-Bur in 2016, he held senior leadership roles including VP and EVP positions at Retalix and NCR.
D-Bur’s in-house team includes software developers, quality assurance specialists, support professionals, and speech-language pathologists. The team collaborates with experts across multiple fields to ensure that products reflect current best practices in assistive technology and AAC.
D-Bur’s work is grounded in close collaboration with clinicians, educators, researchers, and technology developers, as well as ongoing dialogue with AAC users and their families.
This collaboration helps identify real needs and ensures that solutions are practical, impactful, and aligned with everyday communication and participation goals.
