d-bur is the leading AAC company in Israel. It is committed to providing and developing professional and innovative solutions for communication and participation. The company was founded in 2008, by Dr. Yossi Blum. Dr. Blum and his wife Sigal have four children. Matan, their oldest child, was born with developmental disability and is non-speaking. Although high-tech AAC options were not yet available in Israel, Dr. Blum identified the potential of computers to support communication and when Matan was 4 years old, Dr. Blum adapted and implemented a computer-based solution for his son. With time, Matan was able to use his device to communicate more freely and independently and to participate more actively in family and educational settings, improving his perception of himself in the world. Today, he uses his AAC device constantly across environments and it is his preferred method of communication.
Over the years, d-bur expanded their solutions to support communication and access for individuals of all ages with a wide range of abilities and needs. Dr. Blum understands the impact of access to the computer and the internet for
communication and participation in modern society and is dedicated to bringing significant solutions to people both locally and worldwide.
d-bur specializes in integration and development of assistive technologies for people of all ages with a wide range of physical, sensory, communication, or cognitive needs.
Locally, d-bur specializes in adapting AAC iPad and Widows-based solutions as well as developing original tools and content to support communication, education,
literacy development, play and leisure. Within Israel, solutions are designed primarily for the Hebrew and Arabic speaking communities and as needed for other languages (e.g., Russian, Yiddish). The company also provides and integrates computer control solutions and Eye gaze systems across the country.
Internationally, d-bur pioneered Join-In Pro, an innovative software that is designed to provide digital accessibility for individuals with complex physical, sensory, communication, or cognitive needs. Join-In Pro is currently available in 15 languages. d-bur partnered with leading AAC companies to integrate the software into the various platforms and to provide the unique supports that are required for different AAC users.
d-bur is managed by Dr. Yossi Blum and Dr. Gil Roth.
holds a PhD. in Operations Research from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Prior to founding d-bur, Dr. Blum served as a VP of R&D in Retalix (now part of NCR), a leading software company, developing solutions for retailers.

The d-bur in-house team consists of support personnel, software developers, QA workers, and speech-language pathologists.
