Join-In Pro includes three toolbar options that can be selected to match each user’s visual, motor, and cognitive needs. While the toolbar layout remains familiar across apps, each option presents information differently, making it possible to provide the right balance of simplicity and functionality.
To change the toolbar, open Settings → View → Toolbar Type and select Full, Lite, or Basic.
Full Toolbar
The Full toolbar provides access to the complete range of available functions. Most actions are visible on a single screen, reducing the need to navigate between menus and allowing faster access to advanced features.
Best for users who:
- Want access to the full range of functions
- Benefit from seeing many options at once
- Are comfortable with more detailed interfaces
Lite Toolbar
The Lite toolbar includes almost all the same functions as the Full toolbar but uses larger buttons and fewer choices on each screen. Some actions may require an extra step to access, while the interface remains easier to see and navigate.
Best for users who:
- Benefit from larger buttons and clearer layouts
- Need reduced visual complexity
- Still require access to most application features
Basic Toolbar
The Basic toolbar focuses on the most important everyday functions. It presents a simplified environment with fewer choices, helping users stay focused on meaningful activities without unnecessary complexity.
Where supported, apps open directly to familiar content such as favorite contacts, liked videos, or other curated starting points.
Best for users who:
- Are new to Join-In Pro
- Benefit from simplified, structured interfaces
- Need guided access to familiar content
The Basic toolbar includes the Assisted Menu, giving caregivers, family members, and professionals quick access to advanced tools without affecting the user’s everyday experience.
To open the Assisted Menu, triple-click the menu button. From there, you can access system settings and other caregiver functions while keeping them hidden during regular use.
Finding the Best Fit
You can change the toolbar at any time as the user’s needs, preferences, or goals change. Within each toolbar, Stages can also be used to gradually introduce additional functions while maintaining a familiar layout. This allows the interface to evolve without requiring users to switch to a different toolbar.
