Communicator 5 users can open Join-In Pro apps directly from their communication pages and move between their Communicator 5 page set and Join-In Pro.
Users can:
- Send messages, posts, and comments composed with their Communicator 5 keyboard to supported Join-In Pro apps, including WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, and more.
- Use Communicator 5 to enter search phrases, such as searching for contacts in WhatsApp or videos on YouTube.
- Send text composed in Communicator 5 to Google Translate through Join-In Pro.
Integrating Join-In Pro with Communicator 5
Start by downloading the Qwerty10-C5-JIP-Natives-V1.2 page set.
This page set is based on the Communicator 5 Qwerty10 keyboard and includes additional buttons that allow users to:
- Open Join-In Pro apps directly from Communicator 5.
- Send text from the Qwerty10 keyboard to an open Join-In Pro app.
- Send text to Google Translate.
The page set can be used as it is, or you can copy the relevant buttons into the user’s preferred Communicator 5 keyboard.
The integration buttons
Send to Join-In
Sends the text written in Communicator 5 to the currently open Join-In Pro app.
Google Translate
Sends the written text to Join-In Pro’s Google Translate.
Join-In Pro Apps
Opens a page from which the user can launch supported Join-In Pro apps.
Configure Join-In Pro
Before using Join-In Pro with Communicator 5, complete the following one-time setup:
- Open Join-In Pro Settings.
- Open Accessibility and select the appropriate access method.
- Open Keyboard, Voices & AAC Preferences.
- Select the preferred Communicator 5 integration option:
Option 1 — Open Apps from Communicator 5
Open Join-In Pro apps directly from the Communicator 5 page set and use the Join-In Pro keyboard when text is required.
Option 2 — Use the Communicator 5 Keyboard
Use Communicator 5 to compose messages, posts, comments, and search phrases for Join-In Pro apps.
Option 3 — Use Communicator 5 for All Text Entry
Use Communicator 5 for all text input, including usernames, passwords, searches, messages, posts, and comments.
TD Control Settings
When using Communicator 5 through TD Control, make sure TD Control is set up correctly:
- Select Hide to hide the mouse cursor.
- Turn Click off to prevent unintended mouse clicks while moving between Communicator 5 and Join-In Pro.
Example: Composing a Message
- Open a Join-In Pro messaging app from the Communicator 5 page set.
- Select a contact and choose Type Message.
- Join-In Pro returns you to the Communicator 5 keyboard.
- Compose the message.
- Select Send to Join-In.
- Review the message in the messaging app and send it.
