Join-In Pro integrates with TD Snap, allowing users to move seamlessly between their AAC system and supported apps without changing how they communicate.
Users can:
- Send messages created in TD Snap through apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, and more.
- Use TD Snap to search within supported apps, including contacts, videos, and other content.
- Translate text composed in TD Snap using Google Translate through Join-In Pro.
- Switch quickly between TD Snap and Join-In Pro while maintaining a consistent access method.
Flexible Integration
Join-In Pro includes an example TD Snap integration page set that can be used as provided or customized to fit an individual’s communication system.
The example demonstrates several ways to access Join-In Pro:
Dashboard
The Dashboard provides quick access to Join-In Pro through two dedicated buttons:
- Send to Join-In – switches to the last used Join-In Pro app and sends the message from TD Snap.
- Join-In Apps – opens the complete list of supported Join-In Pro applications.
Toolbar
For users who frequently move between TD Snap and Join-In Pro, a Send to Join-In button can also be placed on the TD Snap toolbar for faster access.
Personalized Shortcuts
The example page set also includes personalized buttons that can be customized to provide quick access to frequently used content, such as:
- Favorite YouTube videos
- Favorite Netflix shows
- Favorite WhatsApp contacts
- Frequently used searches
- Other individualized shortcuts
These shortcuts can be tailored to each user’s interests and routines.
Typical Workflow
to use TD Snap with Join-In Pro follow these steps:
- Open a supported app from your TD Snap page set.
- Select the person or activity you want.
- When text entry is needed, Join-In Pro switches back to TD Snap.
- Compose your message using your familiar symbol or text vocabulary.
- Select Send to Join-In to return to the app.
- Review and send your message.
This allows users to communicate using the AAC system they already know while participating in mainstream digital environments.
One-Time Setup
Before using TD Snap with Join-In Pro, complete a one-time configuration:
- Select the appropriate Input Device in Join-In Pro Accessibility Settings.
- Open Keyboard → AAC Preferences and choose how TD Snap should be used.
Available options include:
- Compose messages only – Use TD Snap to create messages, posts, comments, and search terms.
- All text input – Use TD Snap for all typing, including usernames and passwords.
